EmailDr VINCENT MADUKA UHEGBU is a Lecturer in the Department of Internal Medicine, University of Calabar as well as an Honourary Consultant in the University of Calabar teaching hospital. He completed his secondary education at Ibeku High School, Umuahia, Abia State, Nigeria in 1997 and graduated from the Universty of Calabar with MBBCh in 2005. He proceeded for his housemanship in 2005 at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital. He did his residency training in the University of Calabar teaching hospital and obtained the Fellowship of the West African college of Physicians (FWACP), Sub specialty in Cardiology in the Faculty of Internal Medicine in 2013. He was appointed Lecturer I in 2013. He is a Cardiologist and has certification in Leadership and management in Health from University of Washington, USA. He renders clinical services to adults with cardiac problems and other medical problems, teaches medical, dental students and resident doctors and conducts research. He is also involved in various volunteer service such as medical outreaches and very committed in the service of God. He has administrative experience where he has functioned in various capacities such as; Scientific Committee Chairman, NMA, Calabar Chapter, Medical Outreach Coordinator, NMA, Calabar Chapter, Consultant For National Golden Eaglets Of Nigeria, Chief Resident Doctor, Department Of Internal Medicine, UCTH, Calabar, Deputy Senior Prefect, Ibeku High School, Jets Leader, Abia State. These have earned him several awards till date. He is a purpose driven and result oriented scholar with a great zeal to enhancing teaching, learning, academic advancement. His clinical sub-specialty of cardiology has adequately equipped him in patient centered, evidence based, focused and problem oriented care. Dr Uhegbu has several scholarly articles and still counting in both international and local peer reviewed journals. He is a member of many professional bodies in the field of medicine including; Nigerian Cardiac Society, Medical and Dental Consultants Associations of Nigeria, Nigerian Medical Association, AFRIHUB Certified Project Management Professional, AFRIHUB, Institute Of Policy Management Development. He is a born again Christian and happily married with children.
