Thomas Egaga Ushie had a stint in Journalism working with the Sun Publishing Limited, Publishers of the Sun Newspaper and Soccer Star; Lagoon Press Limited, publishers of National Life Newspaper as well as Global Media Mirror Limited, publishers of National Mirror Newspaper and Newswatch, as Proof Reader and Reporter, where he was charged with the responsibilities of initiating and writing human-interest stories spanning existential, entertainment, business, politics, etc. He joined the University of Calabar in December, 2014 as Lecturer. Ushie had his primary and secondary schools education at Saint Christopher and Trinity, respectively, both in Bekwarra Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria, between 1985 and 1996. He later proceeded to An-Najat Computer College, Apapa, Lagos, for a Diploma in Data Processing in 1997/1998 and IJMB A’Level in 1999. He furthered his education at the University of Calabar, between 2000 and 2004 and The University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos in 2011/2012 where he obtained his Bachelor and Master of Arts in Philosophy, respectively. He has attended and presented papers in scholarly conferences, embarked on research projects published in learned local and international journals and has contributed book chapters in collaboration with erudite professors. His research interests are in Ethics, Jurisprudence, Philosophy of Economic and Social Development, Leadership Philosophy, Sociobiology, Philosophy of Education, Existentialism, Neuro-existential Ethics, etc. Tom, as he is fondly called, is married to Liz.
