Ohen, Susana Ben (PhD) is an associate professor in the Department of Agricultural Economics, a researcher and freelance consultant with interest in agricultural marketing, agribusiness and cooperative management. She is a member of the African Women Leaders in Agriculture and Environment (AWLAE) organisation and a Ford foundation grant scholar for the completion of thesis and dissertation award, 2006. Dr Susana Ohen has taught and supervised several research works both at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the field of agricultural economics and has published articles in reputable local and international journals. As part of her community development and research activities, she has been involved in several studies for donor sponsored programmes in different parts of Nigeria including conflict zones and has led teams with diverse technical capacities. She participated in the Baseline studies for the start-up of Fadama III World Bank project and the Community and Social Development Project. She was also the team lead for Fadama III Midline and End line evaluations. She has good skills in team management, and participatory data collection with profound experience in socioeconomic surveys, value chains analysis and project design, monitoring & evaluation. Dr Ohen has benefitted from the Netherlands fellowship programmes and has attended two fully sponsored courses; ‘Market Access for sustainable Development’ held in the Netherlands and ‘Enhancing entrepreneurship’ held in Ethiopia. She has also received several short terms trainings from international and national organisations like the United State Agency for international Development – Winrock International and Nigerian Strategy Support Programme (NSSP) of International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI). She has good analytical skills in statistical and econometric soft wares like the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), Stata and Econometric Views complement her profile.
