Dr. Sovereign Felix Nyong is a multi-faceted personality, a Secretary by profession, a teacher, a pastor, a public speaker, an international conference attendee, a researcher, a prolific writer, a development consultant, a public policy analyst, an entrepreneur, and a sociologist. In 2016, she gained employment at the University of Calabar, Nigeria as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Sociology, where she is currently mentoring young minds in teaching courses assigned to her by the Faculty and supervision of their projects. As a researcher in this noble profession, Dr. Sovereign Nyong has attended several national and international conferences, where her research papers were presented. Dr. Nyong has academic publications in several reputable local and foreign peer-reviewed journals. She has bagged several international conferences merit awards between 2014 and 2018 from the International Journal of Arts and Sciences Conferences held in the United Kingdom and the United States of America. She holds a National Diploma in Secretary Studies from the defunct Polytechnic Calabar, Nigeria (2000), a B.Sc. degree in Policy Studies and Administration (2010) and M.Sc. degree in Development Sociology (2016), a Ph.D. degree in Development Sociology (2020), all from the University of Calabar, Nigeria. Dr. Nyong’s main areas of research interests include public policymaking, gender-based studies, sociology, rural community development, peace and conflict management, social work studies, psychology, and so on. Dr. Sovereign Nyong is a member of the British Sociological Association. She is happily married with children.
