EmailDr Paul Edet Itari who hails from Oban in Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State, is an Associate Professor with the University of Calabar. He currently lectures in the Department of Continuing Education and Development Studies, Faculty of Education. Before joining the University of Calabar, Dr. Itari had worked as a Tourism Officer II with the Cross River National Park Project (CRNPP), Akamkpa. He holds a B.A. (Ed.) Education/English, an M.Ed (Community Development), an MBA (Accounting Option), LL.B and Ph.D Degrees. He schooled in both the Universities of Calabar and Ibadan.
Dr. P. E. Itari was a recipient of the Cross River State, Akamkpa LGA and University of Calabar scholarship awards. During the student days, he was the best graduating student of the then Department of Adult and Continuing Education,University of Calabar and of the M.Ed class of 1995 in the university of Ibadan.He is a member of several professional bodies and has published widely in both local and international jounals.Dr Itari has over 35 publications to his credit.He has attended and presented papers in both local and international conferences. To date ,he has supervised 11 post graduate theses:4 PhDs and 11 M.Eds and over 200 under graduate projects
In the 25 years of his teaching experience, Dr Itari had been a Staff Adviser to students,Departmental DAE/CAE Coordinator, Sandwich Coordinator,B.Ed part time Coordinator,Graduate Chairman,Examination Officer and Activing Head of department . He is currently an External Examiner to two Universities and two Colleges of Education.He is the Editor -in -Chief of the International Journal of Continuing Education and Development Studies (IJCEDS)-an online publication of Continuing Education and Development Studies , University of Calabar Calabar. Dr P.E Itari is happily Married to Stella and they are blessed with four children :a girl and three sons.
