About Dr. Oluwatosin Ohotuowo Kennedy

Oluwatosin Ohotuowo Kennedy Oko is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Animal Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Wildlife Resources Management, University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria. She obtained her B. Agric. (2000), M. Sc. (2004) and Ph.D. (2010) degrees from the University of Calabar, Calabar. She has supervised over 40 undergraduate, 3 Ph.D. 1 M.Sc. and 4 PGD students and has carried out researches in the field of Animal physiology for the past 13 years. Her current research interest is in the exploration of natural feed ingredients as alternative antibiotic growth promoters for farm animals (emphasis-poultry species). Oko is a registered member of the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (RAS 218) and the Royal Society of Biology, United Kingdom. She is a member of several renowned professional societies and networks both internationally and nationally. She is a recipient of several awards amongst which are; Fellow of the International Foundation of Science, Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration, Fellow of the Institute of Human and Natural Resources and Fellow of the Netherland Fellowship Programme. Oko Oluwatosin has attended several seminars, workshops and conferences at local and international fora. She has over 50 publications to her credits and has held several administrative positions at the Departmental, Faculty and Institutional levels. She is also serving as reviewer for several local and internationally journal including; African Journal of Traditional, Complementary and Alternative Medicines, Nigerian Poultry Science Journal, Indian Journal of Animal Sciences, Science Alert, World Applied Sciences Journal and Indian Journal of Agricultural Sciences.
