EmailMfon Eyo holds a PhD in Guidance and Counselling from the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is an educationist par excellence, an astute administrator and a Service Delivery expert. He was a Special Adviser on General Duties in Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State before joining Airtel, a telecom service provider, as Customer Care/Service Delivery Consultant. He rose to a middle management cadre before leaving voluntarily to join the academia in 2014. Presently, Dr Mfon Eyo joined the services of the University of Calabar in 2014 as Lecturer II in the Department of Guidance and Counselling, Faculty of Education, University of Calabar. He was promoted to the rank of Lecturer I in 2017. His research interest spans cyber counselling, ICT in Education, vulnerable group (women, children/youth and the aged) and higher education. Others are peace and conflict resolution, environmental education and general education. He has, to his credit a textbook, three book chapters and over twenty-five local and international journal articles published in reputable peer reviewed journals. Dr Mfon Eyo has also served as the ICT Coordinator and Chairman of the ICT Committee of the Faculty of Education between 2014/15 and 2017/18 academic sessions. Dr Eyo has also served in other capacities within and outside the university, including membership of Faculty of Education Conferences/Seminars/Workshops Committee and Faculty of Education 2015 Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) Induction Committee. He is the General Secretary of the Cross River State Chapter of Counselling Association of Nigeria, a position he held since 2015. Dr Mfon Eyo has also served in different Editorial Boards of peer reviewed journals including Managing Editor, Calabar Counsellor, a journal of the Cross River State chapter of the Counselling Association of Nigeria; Managing Editor, Prestige Journal of Education, a publication of the Association for the Promotion of Innovation in Education; Managing Editor, Prestige Journal of Counselling Psychology, a publication of the Association for the Promotion of Innovation in Education; amongst others. He is happily married with children.
