About Dr. Love Joseph Asor

Dr. (Mrs) Love Joseph Asor joined the services of the University of Calabar in 2008 as an Assistant Lecturer in the then Department of Adult Education, now Department of Continuing Education and Development Studies. She was promoted to the rank of Senior Lecturer in 2017. Dr Asor holds B.Ed degree in Adult Education (Political Science) from the University of Calabar (1995), M.Ed degree in Adult Education Community Development (2007) from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology and a Ph.D degree in Adult Education (Community Development) in 2014 from the University of Calabar. She has been contributing to the graduation of students and community development through teaching, mentoring and research in the University. She has successfully supervised and co-supervised over ten postgraduate student’s thesis comprising eight PhDs and two masters. Dr Asor has published over thirty journal articles spread across both local and international peer reviewed journals. She is also a regular participant in many local and international conferences, seminars, symposia and workshops where she always makes useful contributions in her area. She has also served the University in other capacities such as Member, Teaching Practice Committee (2009-2010), Hall Warden in Joyce Udensi Hostel (2010-2016), undergraduate project coordinator (2010-2016); Member, Faculty Exchange/ Linkage Committee (2012-2014); Member, Vetting and Quality Assurance Committee (2015-2017); Member Departmental Journal and Publications Committee (2015-2017); Departmental Graduate Chairperson (2016-2020); Member, Faculty Post Teaching Practice Evaluation Committee (2019) and Member, ASUU Welfare Committee (2019). Dr Asor is a member of many professional associations including Nigerian National Council of Adult Education, Teachers’ Registration Council and so on. She is happily married with children.
