Dr. Mrs Joy N. Njoku was born on the 8th of June 1962 to the family of Mr and Mrs Felix Nnorom in Ife Ezinihitte Mbaise, Imo state, Nigeria. She attended central school Ife from 1970-1976. She went to Amumara Girls Secondary School where she passed out with good WASC result in 1981. She proceeded to Bishop Lasbrey Teachers College Irette Owerri in 1982 and graduated from there in 1984 with TC II results. In 1985 she proceeded to AlvanIkoku College of Education, Owerri where she studied Biology/Health Education and graduated in 1988. In 1989, she registered at the University of Port-Harcourt for a degree in Educational Psychology/Guidance and Counseling/Biology and graduated with Second Class( Upper division) Degrees in 1995. She started her teaching career at Model primary school, Choba, Port in 1989, She also taught at Aunty Tariah primary school Port Harcourt. In 1994 she was employed at University of Port Harcourt Demonstration primarySchool from where she moved over to Sokoto with her husband in 1996. She taught with Sokoto State Secondary School Board as Biology Teacher from 1997-1998. She got employment at Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto in June 1998 as graduate assistant. She immediately enrolled for her Masters Degree in Educational Psychology and Graduated in 2002. She served for two years in the same institution and enrolled for her Ph.D in 2004. She obtained her Ph.D in Educational Psychology in 2009. Dr Mrs. Joy N. Njoku served at Usmanu Danfodiyo University till 2015 when she transferred her services to Department of Educational Foundations University of Calabar as a senior lecturer. She has successfully carried out many academic research, She has published several articles in international and local journals. She is happily married to Prof. C. H. Njoku and their marriage is blessed with four children. At present, she has two grand children.
