Godwin Eneji Egbung is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Calabar, Nigeria. He obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry in 1997 and a Master’s degree in Biochemistry in 2003 from the same University. He enrolled for the Ph.D programme under the supervision of Professor E.U Essien and Professor E.H Itam and graduated in 2009 from the same department. In order to replicate the wealth of experience acquired from his erudite supervisors and Teachers, Dr Egbung has successfully supervised one Ph.D and 5 M.Sc candidates in Biochemistry with speciality in Biochemical Toxicology, Clinical, Nutritional and Pharmacological Biochemistry. Dr. Egbung’s research interests include: Lipid Biochemistry, Toxicological Biochemistry and Forensic Biochemistry. He has published about 30 peer reviewed journal articles in national and international journals. He has served in some administrative positions namely: Co-ordinator of GSS 131/132: History and Philosophy of Science (2013-2015). Assistant Examination officer (2012-2015) and Examination officer ( June 2016- June 2017). He is presently investigating the mechanisms of some indigenous Nigerian medicinal plants in the management of cadmium and paracetamol induced-oxidative stress conditions in Wistar rat models.
