About Dr. David Adie Alawa

Dr David Adie Alawa is an academic staff in the Department of Vocational Education, Faculty of Education, University of Calabar, Cross River State. He holds a NCE (1996) from Federal College of Education, Obudu; B.Sc. (Ed.) degree in Agricultural Education from the University of Calabar (2006); M.Ed. and PhD degrees in Agricultural Education awarded by the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2010 and 2015 respectively. His main area of specialisation is evaluation and environmental agriculture. He joined the services of the University of Calabar on September 19, 2007 as a Graduate Assistant shortly after the mandatory National Youth Service Corps programme at the University of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State. He is actively involved in teaching, research and collaborations with team members in the academia within and outside University of Calabar. His team work has attracted a TetFund Institutional Based Research (IBR) Grant for 2017-2018 on youth participation in Agro-based Entrepreneurial activities for reducing insurgency in South-south Nigeria. He had also jointly facilitated a workshop on school farm Skills project organized for Primary School Teachers in Ohoazara L.G.A of Ebonyi State, Nigeria in 2009. He has successfully supervised two (2) M.Ed. graduates. He is a member of many professional assocaitions including Agricultural Education Teachers of Nigeria, Association of Vocational Education Teachers of Nigeria and Curiculum Organisation of Nigeria. He is married with children.
