About Dr. Chinasa Uttah

Dr. Mrs. Chinasa Uttah is a staff of the Department of Environmental Resource Management, Faculty of Environmental Sciences. She holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), Bachelor of Science, Mathematics/Computer Science (B.Sc), Masters of Science, Geographic Information Systems (MGIS) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Population, Environment and Development. Dr. Mrs. Chinasa Uttah was the best mathematics student in Secondary School and the best teacher of the year for several years in Monef Kiddies School, Uyo. She teaches quantitative geography, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing (RS), population geography, environment and development courses. She has been involved in talk in seminars, workshops and conferences that engage youths and women as participants. Dr. Chinasa has been involved in poster presentation in international conference. She has also been an active reviewer for World Environment Day (WED) Journal of the Faculty of Environmental Sciences. Dr. Chinasa has attended over ten (10) conferences among which are International Climate Change & Population Conference Ghana, Annual National Conference of Association of Nigerian Geographers (ANG), AGM/National conference of Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), World Environment Day (WED) conference. Beside these, she has been a member of Local Organising Committee (LOC) in several conferences. Dr. Chinasa is a member of International Society for Development and Sustainability, Japan; Association of Nigerian Geographers (ANG); Nigeria Environmental Society (NES), Nigerian Cartographic Association (NCA) and Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). Apart from being members of the aforementioned professional bodies, she has published in several learned international and local journals.
