Dr. Charles Obinna Njoku is a Medical Graduate of the University of Calabar (1998). He joined the University of Calabar as an academic staff in August 2011 after a successful Post Graduate Fellowship training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology of the West African College of Surgeons, October 2010. He has attended several post graduate certificate courses in Health Resource Management, Research Methodology and Manuscript writing.He is a fellow of the West African College of Surgeons.Dr. Njoku C.O. has passion for Medical Education and Research with special interest in Urogynaecology and Reproductive Health in which areas he lectures undergraduate and post graduate students.He has also delivered Conference papers on related subjects at local, regional and international Conferences example, World Congress of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians (FIGO), Vancouver, Canada 2015 (oral and poster presentations).He is also a reviewer of both local and international journals; Calabar Medical Journal, Open Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology among others. Dr. Njoku has supervised four (4) post graduate candidates and currently supervising two (2) Part II (final) Fellowship Examination of the West African College of Surgeons and the National Post Graduate Medical College of Nigeria.He has attended many academic and professional Conferences which include;Â International Scientific Conference of the Society of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians of Nigeria, Abuja, Nigeria (SOGON, 2010), International Conference of Association of Fertility and Reproductive Health, Port Harcourt 2016, International Conference of the West African College of Surgeons in Dakar, Senegal 2011, World Conferences of International Federation of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians (FIGO) in Rome and Canada 2012 and 2015 respectively among others. Dr. Charles Njoku has thirty-four (34) scientific publications, 27 in international journals and 7 in local journals and five (5) ongoing. He also co-authored a textbook for undergraduates and post graduates in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and applied for a research Grant with other researchers to the World Health Organization (WHO) to work on the Prevalence of Sexually Transmitted Infections among Women Attending Traditional Birth Houses in Cross River State, Nigeria. He is a member of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Society of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians of Nigeria (SOGON), Association of Fertility and Reproductive Health (AFRH), West African College of Surgeons (WACS), International Federation of Gynaecologists and Obstetricians (FIGO). He is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Calabar, and also a Chief Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist in the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria, West Africa.
