Brian E. Usibe has been an Engineering Researcher and Development Expert in the fields of Digital Electronics and Materials Technology in the University of Calabar, where he obtained BSc (Hons) in Electronics and Computer Technology and MSc in Engineering Physics Degrees, respectively. Earlier in his career, he conducted high profile researches and authored peer-reviewed papers in the areas of Electronic Circuitry Design, Nano-sensor Communications and also found an interest in using Computational Modelling techniques to solve “real-life†and complex Engineering problems, with specific investigations in the elastodynamics of cracked Engineering materials and components, where he holds a PhD Degree in Engineering from the University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom. Brian is a Licensed and Professionally Registered Engineer (R.Engr.) with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He is a Corporate Member of The Nigerian Society of Engineers (MNSE) and The Institution of Engineering and Technology (MIET), United Kingdom. He is also a member of other professional institutions and societies including; Nigerian Institute of Physics (MNIP), European Mechanics Society and the Energy Institute in the United Kingdom, as well as an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Policy Management Development (FIPMD) for his commitment towards educational policy implementation, academic excellence and human capacity development. He is an Educational Consultant and an Engineering Manager. In addition to Teaching and Research, he had served the University in the following administrative positions: Examinations Officer, Academic Adviser, Student Union Adviser, Coordinator, Centre for General Studies. Secretary, Departmental Academic Board, Representative of Faculty of Physical Sciences at the Board of Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, Member, 2013 Physics Appointment and Promotion verification Committee, Away from career life, Brian is a man of a trustworthy and unassuming personality, with humility and pragmatism as some of his strengths. He is a philanthropist, an advocate and sponsor of social values reorientation as well as quality applicable Education. He also offers Community Development and Counselling Services for various organisations at home and abroad, particularly targeted at the building and sustenance of STEM courses and careers.
