EmailDr. Benjamin Ambe is a Lecturer in the Department of Environmental Education, Faculty of Education, University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria. He attended the Cross River State College of Education, Akamkpa where he obtained the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) with majors in Chemistry and Integrated Science in 1997. He later graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree Honours in Environmental Education with Majors in Geography in 2002; and a Master’s Degree in Environmental Education in 2011 from the Prestigious University of Calabar. Dr. Ambe obtained his PhD degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2016 from the University of Calabar. He joined the services of the University of Calabar after his foray in politics in 2014 as an Assistant Lecturer and was upgraded in 2016 to Lecturer II. Since joining the University, he has been teaching and mentoring, researching and contributing to churning out 21st century savvy graduates. His major research areas over the years have been in the areas of Environmental Education Pedagogy, curriculum implementation, Environmental Geography Education, Population Studies, Urban waste Management, Water, sanitation and Health (WASH), Early Child Care/Basic Education implementation, Environmental conservation/management, and Eco-Tourism Education. Dr. Ambe has made contributions to some book chapters, published many local and foreign journal articles in reputable peer reviewed Journals. He is an active participant in many seminars, conferences and workshops where he has presented papers in some. Benjamin is a BOT member of Environmental/Tourism Educators and Researchers Association of Nigeria (ETERAN); he is a member of World Council of Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI) Nigeria Chapter, North America Association for Environmental Educators (NAAEE), Member Interdisciplinary Environmental Association (IEA); Member, International Society for Development and Sustainability (ISDS). He is married with children.
