EmailAbonor, Lazarus Bassey, is a registered social worker as well as a lecturer with the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Calabar, Calabar, Nigeria where he presently serves as an Examination Officer for the CES Programme, Staff Adviser, as well as Academic Adviser of the Department. He holds a Bachelor of Scince (B.Sc.) degree in Sociology and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Industrial Sociology from the prestigious University of Calabar, a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Development Sociology from Ebonyi State University Abakaliki, a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto, and Ph.D in-view from Federal University, Lafia, Nasarawa State. He is a member of Nigeria Sociological and Anthropological Association (NSASA), Nigeria Association of Social Workers(NASOW). He is a purpose driven and result oriented scholar with a great zeal to enhancing teaching and learning, academic advancement and community service. With a tremendous experience in rural development and poverty alleviation, social development and transformation, he has interest in poverty alleviation mechanisms, community as well as rural development and care for the vulnerable in the society such as children, displaced persons and the aged. Abonor Lazarus has authored and co-authored a number of scholarly articles and presented papers in numerous conferences both national and international.
