Dr. Abanyam obtained B.Sc. (Ed.) in Agricultural Education from the University of Calabar in 1996, M.Ed and Ph.D degrees in (Agricultural Education) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He joined the University of Calabar as Assistant Lecturer in 2008 and rose to the rank of Lecturer 1 in 2015. Dr Abanyam has held various positions both at the Faculty and Departmental levels. They include Chairman, Welfare Committee for both the Department of Vocational Education and Faculty of Education, Project Coordinator, Department of Vocational Education and currently, the Deputy Coordinator, Teaching Practice Committee in the Faculty of Education. He has also served as a secondary school teacher for over 12 years. While as a teacher in secondary school. Dr. Abanyam served as member, Cross River State, Book Writing and Review Committee where he contributed several agricultural science book chapters for both Junior and Senior Secondary Schools. He has published several articles in reputable journals. He is married with children.
