About Dr. Stephen Eguba Ekwok

Dr. Stephen E. Ekwok is a self-confident, dogged, precocious lecturer of Physics and Applied Geophysics at the University of Calabar, Calabar. Stephen was born on May 5, 1985, in Mfuma, Cross River State, Nigeria. After his primary and secondary education in Yala, he moved to Calabar in the year 2002 and continued his education at the prestigious University of Calabar, Calabar-Nigeria. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Geophysics in 2006. After National Youth Service Corps programme, he worked as Project Geophysicist at MhoMho Technologies and Environmental Services Limited. Within this period, he undertook post-graduate programmes and bagged MSc (Exploration Geophysics) and PhD (Geophysics) degrees in 2012 and 2017 respectively. He is an experienced exploration Geophysicist with expertise in groundwater, solid mineral and hydrocarbon explorations involving electrical and potential field methods. In 2017, he and his research team headed by Prof. Anthony E. Akpan won NMGS/Dr Muslim Idris Prize at the 53rd Annual International Conference and Exhibition of Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society, (NMGS, 2017), Abuja, Nigeria. He was properly mentored by an astute scholar and this made him develop hunger for writing and publishing in reputable journal.
