EmailDr. Paul Odey was employed in the University of Calabar on the 25th April, 2016 as a lecturer in the Department of Anatomical Sciences, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, University of Calabar, Calabar. He is an indigene of Utugwang in Obudu L.G.A of Cross River State and lived for about 10 years in the Northern part of Nigeria. His primary education started in 1989 at the Army Children School, new cantonment B, Kawo Local Government, Kaduna State. This was however, not completed as he progressed to Mater Dei Day international nursery and primary school to complete his primary education, obtaining a first school leaving certificate. He joined Pope John Paul II Seminary, Okpoma, Yala L.G.A in 1994 for his secondary education and obtained his SSCE in the year 2000. He proceeded to the University in Calabar in 2003 to 2007 and graduated with a Bachelor degree in Human Anatomy second class upper. In 2007, he was admitted through direct entry to study Medicine and Surgery graduating in 2013 as a Medical Doctor. Between 2017 and 2019 he obtained a Master degree in Clinical Anatomy. Dr. Paul Odey has a certificate of professional development for Leadership and Management in Health, obtained from the University of Washington through an online study. Currently, he is dedicated to study further in order obtain a PhD. He has taught for the past five years as well as supervising undergraduate Anatomy students in their project work. As a teacher and a Medical Doctor, he has delivered several lectures in communities in Etung and Obubura L.G.A on Birth Control Methods. In addition to this academic activities, he has attended several conferences including, society for experimental and clinical anatomy conference in Nnewi 2017, ACURET in 2016, National Health Summit, 2019 and others. He has several research projects that focused on Clinical Anatomy as well as Medical Anthropology. Most of which have been published in reputable journals internationally and locally. He is a member of the Nigerian Medical Association, Society for Experimental and Clinical Anatomist of Nigeria and Anatomical society of Nigeria.
