Dr. Michael Obi Odey hail from Ekprinyi Village in Yala Local Government Area of Cross River State. He was born on the 14th day of June 1968. He attended St. Mathew’s primary school Imaje Yala Local Government Area from 1974 to 1980, and obtained First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC). He proceeded to federal school of Arts and Science Ogoja in 1985 and around up in 1990 with West Africa School Certificate (WASC). He later attended the Cross River State College of education Akamkpa in 1991 and graduated in 1995 with Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE). Mr Odey later got admission into the University of Calabar in 2005 and graduated in 2009 with B.Sc (Education) in political science education. In his quest for further studies, he got admitted into the Department of Curriculum and Teaching in 2011 in the University of Calabar to pursue a Master’s degree in Social Studies and rounded up in 2015 with an M.Ed. Mr Odey later secured admission to Pursue a Doctorate Degree in Social Studies in the Department of Social Science Education in the University of Calabar in 2015 and successfully defended his Ph.D thesis in March 2019 where he was recommended for the award of Ph.D in Social Studies Education and is awaiting approval of the University of Calabar Senate. Mr. Odey was employed into the department of Social Science Education in the University of Calabar in July, 2018 as Assistant Lecturer. He has three scholarly publications to his credit, and also attended the Educational Assessment and Research Network in Africa (EARNIA) second international conference in Calabar in 2016. He is happily married with children.
