EmailDr. Ibituru Iwowari Pepple was employed to the Department of Mass Communication, University of Calabar on the 28th of August, 2019, as a senior lecturer. He obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree in Mass Communication at the defunct, Rivers State University of Science and Technology, now Rivers State University, Nkpolu-oroworokwu, Port Harcourt, in 2001, Master of Arts Degree (Mass Comm.) of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2009 and a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in Mass Communication of the University of Uyo, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State 2018. His research interest is in broadcast Journalism and Ethno-communicology. He is a fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria, Member, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Member, African Council for Communication Education, Nigeria Chapter and an Associate Member, Nigeria Institute of Public Relations. He was a broadcast Journalist with the Rivers State Broadcasting Corporation, Operators of Radio Rivers 99.1FM, Port Harcourt. Contributor, Art file of the defunct Sunray Newspaper, Port Harcourt. He has published widely in some scholarly Local Journals (National) and International Journals. He was a columnist and a publisher of the Hall Mark Magazine, a publication of the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja (Training wing of the Nigeria Union of Journalists. He has supervised over 50 post graduate projects and undergraduate projects. He was the Rector of Southernton Polytechnic, Igbeta-Ewoama, Nembe, Bayelsa State. He was also the co-ordinator of the International Institute of Journalism, Abuja, Port Harcourt Study Centre (Training wing of the Nigeria Union of Journalists). He has Co-authored books as well as published the fundamentals of Radio /TV Production Technique amongst others. He is married with four (4) children, 3 girls and a boy. He has won several awards including a Certificate of Merit as a Social Media Practitioner from the Bayelsa State Govt., in 2014.
