About Dr. Godwin Michael Ubi

Godwin Michael Ubi (Ph.D) is a plant breeder, geneticist and biotechnologist. He has vast experience working with the rural populace from 2007 to 2015 as training and technical assistance officer and as an agronomist under the World bank assisted Third National Fadama III Development project in Nigeria and Cross River State in particular. He currently teaches and conducts research in the Department of Genetics and Biotechnology, Faculty of Biological Sciences, University of Calabar, Calabar Nigeria. He teaches molecular biology, bioinformatics, principles of biotechnology, biological techniques, biostatics, biometrical genetics, population genetics and agricultural biotechnology. He has demonstrated high capacity in research, conducted and published over a hundred and twenty original research articles in international journals with impact factor (Research gate and Google Scholar). He is also an academic mentor/supervisor with the web of science academy (formally Publons academy) and has peer- reviewed over a hundred and twenty articles for international journals to his credit ([email protected]). He has authored many books and book chapters in his area of specialty published by Springer nature and Elsevier publishers. He is currently ranked among the world scientist AD rankings since 2021. He was trained on the applications of Molecular markers and bioinformatics in biodiversity research in Nigeria and in the Management Development institute of Singapore, on Agricultural Management and Advisory services. He is a national Agricultural Commodity Value Chain Development Facilitator in Nigeria and Africa. He has attended many national and international workshops, seminars and conferences. He is the CEO of Biggmade Scientific research Academy and Diagnostic Laboratory in Calabar where students undergo industrial training for on-hands practical experiences. He has a Postdoc training on the Global alliance and fight against COVID 19 pandemic on Drug Discovery. He hails from Ugep, in Yakurr LGA of Cross River State and happily married with four kids.
