EmailDr. Eyo Effiong Essien after completing his compulsory National Service was engaged in academic and IT professional practices. He started as a Computer Programmer in the private sector and latter moved to the University of Calabar Computer Center as a programmer and Systems Administrator in 1994. He was eventually converted to full academics staff in 1997 as Graduate Assistant. He progressed through the ranks and was promoted to the rank of Lecturer I in 2016. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science that was awarded to him by University of Nigeria Nsukka in 1992, M.Sc. degree in Data Communications obtained from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2007 and a PhD degree in Computer Science from the University of Calabar in 2016. In addition, Dr Essien was awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Geology in 1997 by University of Calabar and PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Central Florida obtained in 2012 (Online single contact). Dr Essien is an astute academics who has teaching and contributing to the graduation of students in the University of Calabar. He is an active researcher and have participated in many local and international conferences where he presented his research findings. Dr Eyo Essien is a fellow and NEC member of the Nigeria Computer Society and Chattered Information Technology Professional. He is also a member of other professional bodies including Council Executive, Computer Professionals (Registration Council) of Nigeria, Institute of Electrical Electronic Engineers, Association of Computing Machinery, American Association for Science and Technology, Associate Fellow of the Institute of Operations Research of Nigeria and Internet Society of UK, Nigeria Chapter. He is married with children.
