EmailDr. Edet Ekpo currently holds the position of Lecturer I in Faculty of Medicine, University of Calabar and Senior Consultant in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar, Cross-River State. He attended Primary and Secondary education where he received his First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC) and Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) respectively. He got his first degree (MBBCh) from College of Medical Sciences, University of Calabar in 2003. He acquired his Basic and Advanced Gynaecology Endoscopy trainings in Akwa, Anambra State in 2017 and 2019. He later upgraded on his Advanced Gynaecology Endoscopy training in World Laparoscopy Centre, India in 2021. In addition, he also obtained a Certification in Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) in India in 2021. Dr. Edet is an active fellow in both the Fellowship of West African College of Surgeons since 2016 and Fellowship Minimal Access Surgery in 2021. He lectures in Faculty of Medicine, College of Medical Sciences, University of Calabar. He has delivered educational talks in the capacity of a facilitator in respect to his field of discipline in seminars and medical programs. He has published several journals in collaboration with others, in Foreign and local peered reviewed Journals. He is a great mentor to people within his discipline and beyond. Dr. Edet has attended conferences at both National and International level. He is an active and committed member of several learned societies such as Nigerian Medical Association, Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology of Nigeria, Association of Gynaecology Endoscopic Surgeons, World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons and Academic Staff Union of Universities. He has been actively involved in so many medical outreaches organized by charitable and religious groups in Calabar, Cross-River State.
