EmailEne Edem Ekpo holds a B.A degree from the Department of English and Literary Studies, University of Calabar in 2011 where he emerged the best graduating student in the Department. He won the University of Calabar Pro-Chancellor prize for the Best Behaved Student in the 2011 graduating class. He is also the 2011 prize winner of the late Asa Kofi Nnang Memorial Literature Prize as well as the Prize Winner, Ewa and Ebele Eko Literature Prize, University of Calabar Convocation Awards 2011. He holds an M.A degree in English (Literature Emphasis) from the Department of English and literary studies, University of Calabar in 2017. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Uyo. His research interest is in the area of African and Diaspora literature. He is interested in African and Diaspora poetry with a keen interest in self assertion and portrayal of identities. He joined the Academic Board of the Department of English and Literary Studies, University of Calabar as a graduate Assistant in February 2015. He currently teaches, African-American Literature, African Poetry, Literary Appreciation, Creative Writing among others in the department to undergraduate students. He has attended conferences and his papers have appeared in reputable international and local journals. He was a member of the local organizing committee for the 2018 international conference on African literature and the English language held by the department of English and Literary Studies, University of Calabar. He was equally a member of the local organizing committee for the Niyi Osundare International Poetry Festival held in the University of Calabar, 2019. He is a member of the Teachers Registration Council of Nigerian (TRCN). He is a vibrant and dynamic budding scholar with an impeccable passion for global development through research, teaching and mentoring. He is a proactive and pragmatic man with many skill sets including: character educator, communication and media consultant through best practice approach and using modern technology. He is a reliable and trustworthy team player with apt understanding of organizational practice, excellent communication ability and problem-solving skills.
