About Dr. Ebong Dickson Ebong

Dr Ebong Dickson Ebong graduated from the University of Calabar with B.Sc. (Hons.) in Applied Geophysics. He holds a PhD in Geophysics and MSc in Exploration Geophysics. Dr Ebong worked as Project Officer for Dagracem Consults and Services Limited, and he is currently a Lecturer II in the Department of Physics, University of Calabar, Calabar. Ebong is the Secretary of the Physics Department Academic Board (2014 till date), Academic Secretary of the National Water Resources Capacity Building Network (NWRCBNet) South-South Zone (2014 till date), Member, Faculty of Physical Sciences Workshop Organizing and Hands-on Training Committee (2016 till date), Pre-Degree Physics Examination Officer (2016-2018) and Pre-Degree Physics Coordinator (2018-till date). His core teaching and research areas spans through Seismic and Electrical methods, Reservoir Characterization and Modeling, Groundwater, Environmental and Engineering Geophysics. During the 53rd Annual Conference and Exhibition of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS), Abuja 2017; one of the papers he co-authored ‘Seasonal reversals in groundwater flow direction and its role in the recurrent Agwagune landslide problems: a geophysical and geological appraisal’ won the NMGS/DR MUSLIM IDRIS AWARD in Hydrogeology and/or Integrated Water Resources Management. He has over ten publications in international journals, abstracts and over twenty five technical reports. Ebong is a promising and upcoming geoscientist with keen interest in ground-breaking research at any level within the frontiers of geosciences. He is a devout Christian, married to his adorable wife, Engr (Mrs) Loveth Ebong.
