Donatus Enang. Bassey is presently a staff in the Electronic and Computer Technology Unit, UNICAL. He handles courses in Electronic, ICT, Electro-accoustic, Telecommunications Engineering, etc; for both Under-Graduate and Post Graduate students. Within seven years of converting into full time academic carrier, he has mentored and graduated more than fourteen Graduate students (M.Sc. and Ph.D levels); and has many more under full-time and adjunct lecturing. He holds a B. ENGR degree (Electrical/Electronics Engineering), 1990, at the University of Port Harcourt, Nigeria, obtained M.Sc. degree (Electronics/ Telecommunications) in 2003 and Ph.D in Electronics / Telecommunications, University of Calabar. Calabar, in 2006; under the mentorship of our renowned Engr.Prof. Alex I. Menkiti. He is a corporate member of: the Nigerian Computer Society, Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, Nigerian Institute of Physics, etc. He is a seasoned experienced Engineer; and has practiced Engineering extensively before he introverted into the University system on full-time basis in 2012. Key among Engineering projects handled are: Resident Electrical Engr in-charge of the construction of Federal .Secretariate Complex, at Calabar and Makurdi, Chief Engr of Cross River Broadcasting Corporation (CRBC), Pioneer Head of Electronics /Telecommunications Department of Nigerian Export Processing Zones Authority. and also served and rose along the ladder to the management staff-level of the defunct National carrier, NITEL/M-NTEL He is an expert member who represented the National Carrier, NITEL and M -TEL at the joint operational-assessment meeting of the Nigerian Communications Commission (Traffic and Operations Technical Committee on Attainment of Quality of Service for Telecommunications’ Operators in Nigeria) at the inception of GSM operation. He is currently an Associate Professor (since ,2016).
