EmailDr Callistus Okwuchukwu Achuri Enyuma was first employed by the University of Calabar as lecturer 1 and Honorary Consultant by the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) in 2013. He is currently a senior lecturer and chief consultant Paediatrician with the department of paediatrics, Faculty of clinical Sciences, University of Calabar and University of Calabar Teaching Hospital respectively. Before then, young Enyuma started his educational career at Community Primary School IV, Okpoko, Anambra State (1983/84) where he worked hard and gain admission into the prestigious Comprehensive Secondary School, Onitsha, Anambra State, Nigeria between 1984 and 1989. Not done with his quest for knowledge, he went through the rigorous process of getting admission to obtain a Bachelor of medicine MBBch at University of Calabar between 1992 and 1999. He then, proceeded for his fellowship in faculty of Paediatrics of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (2012). At this point, one would have expected him to rest at his laurel in his quest for knowledge, but instead ever busy, ever curious young Enyuma, applied and was awarded TETfund scholarship under the academic staff development scheme for his off shore Master's degree in Medicine (Emergency Medicine) from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa (2018). In his passion for learning and teaching, he has been teaching different lecture modules in Paediatrics to 5th year Medical and Dentistry students since 2008. He has mounted several poster presentations in local and international conferences. He has reviewed article for two journals who solicited his expertise based on papers published with the journal. He has mentored over 20 doctors undergoing their postgraduate training for fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and the West African College of Physicians. He has attended several local and internal conferences which includes; the 1st scientific parallel session of 50th Annual General meeting and 6th International scientific conference, - Ibadan, Nigeria - Paediatric Association of Nigeria (PANCONF 2019). Dr Enyuma, was a member of the LOC that organized the 45th Annual general and the 5th International Scientific Conference of the Paediatric Association of Nigeria, Calabar, Nigeria. Jan 2014. He has been actively involved in clinical research and authored/co-authored many publications. Furthermore, he initiated and completed his research project for the award of a master’s degree. Presently, he has developed a project concept for a PhD programme in Emergency Paediatrics at the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. He is also finalizing paperwork for a 2 years fellowship in Paediatrics Emergency and Critical care (PECC) at the University of Nairobi/ Kenyatta National Hospital, Kenya facilitated by the University of Washington/ Seattle Children’s Hospital. He is a member of the Academic staff Union of Nigeria Universities, the Paediatric Association of Nigeria, Nigeria Medical Association and Medical and Dental Consultant Association of Nigeria. He is proficient in Microsoft office and also STATA, SPSS statistical softwares. He has been involved in several health and surgical outreaches targeted at providing free Health services to the communities and emphasis on the indigent. He has published over 18 scholarly researched articles in a peer reviewed journals both local and international, with 6 awaiting journal decision and currently working on 4 projects for publications. Dr Enyuma is happily married to his heartthrob and the marriage is blessed with children.
