About Dr. Bassey Asuquo Bassey

Dr. Bassey Asuquo Bassey was born into the Royal Family of Eyo Atti-Onukak in Akai Atti village in Mbo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. Dr. Bassey started his academic sojourn as Graduate Assistant in the University of Calabar Library, and rose to Librarian 1. In the year 2008, Dr. Bassey transferred his services from the University Library to the Faculty of Education of the same University; and accordingly changed his status from Academic Librarian to the full time Faculty member (Lecturer) in the Department of Educational Foundations, University of Calabar. He rose to the rank of Associate Professor in 2016 and by the special grace of God would be assessed for the position of full Professor this year (2019); all to the glory of Almighty God. Dr. Bassey has some relevant and cognate experiences over the years, typical of which are: - Academic Librarian in UNICAL Library (1999 – 2007) - Academic Adviser to Diploma and Undergraduate students in Library & Information Science, UNICAL (1999 – 2007). - Lecturer, Department of Educational Foundations, University of Calabar (2008 till date) - Coordinator of three core course in the Department: Basic Statistics in Education; Educational Tests & Measurement and Research Methods in Education (2012 – 2018). - Academic Adviser to Graduate (MEd and PhD) students in research, Measurement & Evaluation Unit (2013 – 2018) - Head, Research, Measurement & Evaluation Unit (2013 – 2018) - Member, Graduate Education Vetting Committee (2014 – 2017) - Member, Nigerian Library Association (NLA) - Member Association of Educational Researchers and Evaluators of Nigeria (ASSEREN). - Member, Educational Assessment & Research Network in Africa (EARNiA) - Member, Librarian Registration Council of Nigeria, (LRCN) - Member, Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria TRCN) - Member, World Council for Curriculum and Instruction (WCCI) - Deputy Dean, Faculty of Education, University of Calabar (2018 till date) - Senate Member (Faculty Representative), University of Calabar.
