EmailDr. Barineka M.W. Nwibari, started civil service work as a Secondary School Biology Teacher, with the Rivers State Post-Primary School’s Board in the early 90s. He later moved to the University of Port Harcourt, where he served as a Teaching Research Assistant in the Department of Animal and Environmental Biology in 2000. Furthermore, Dr. Nwibari moved to the University of Jos in Plateau State, Nigeria where he served as Lecturer II in the Department of Zoology between 2009 and 2020. Finally, Dr. Nwibari joined the services of the University of Calabar in 2020 as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Zoology and Environmental Biology. He holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education from Federal College of Education, Katsina (1992); B.Sc. (Ed.) Biology degree awarded to him by the Bayero University, Kano (1997); M. Sc. General Parasitology (2001) and Ph.D. degree in Environmental/ Medical Parasitology (2008) from the University of Port Harcourt. He has lastly been promoted to this academic rank in the University of Jos. In all these institutions, Dr. Nwibari has been teaching, mentoring, and researching. He has successfully supervised and co-supervised over eight postgraduate students. He has authored and co-authored many articles in both local and international peer-reviewed journals and textbooks to his credit. He reported on the Ogoni Environment in Infoe International, around the early 2000s, with Maxz Mader, a Ph.D. research student from the University of Zurich, Switzerland, a research work that earned him several recognitions among his academic and social peers, even beyond. He has attended many conferences, seminars, workshops, and symposia where he presented papers in his areas of research. Dr. Nwibari is a member of many professional bodies including Parasitology and Public Health Society of Nigeria, Nigerian Society of Experimental Biology, Science Teachers Association of Nigeria, Nigerian Zoological Society among others. Dr. Nwibari is happily married.
