Dr Omotoso, Ayodele Joshua was employed as an academic staff into the department of Pathology, University of Calabar, Calabar in 2010. He attended University of Lagos where he obtained his MBBS IN 1998, National postgraduate medical College of Nigeria with FMCPath in 2008 and Chief Examiner, Faculty Basic clinical science (Chemical pathology, Haematology & Blood transfusion, Medical Microbiology & Parasitology, Morbid Anatomy and Pharmacology & Therapeutics), Bingham University Jos Campus, Jos Plateau State in 3rd MBBS examination 2010/2011 set. He was awarded a letter of commendation in the Department of Pathology, University of Calabar Teaching Hospital for Hard-work and Good organisation of the Mortuary unit. He belongs to and is associated to some many professional bodies including Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Association of Pathologists of Nigeria (APA), Nigeria Cancer Society (NCS), Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), West African Society of Cytology (WASC), Anglophone West African Division of international Academy of Pathology (AWADIAP) and international Academy of Pathology (IAP). He has likewise attended several workshops and training programs hosted in Africa and Abroad among which are 2019 National Cancer Institute USA Cancer Prevention fellowship program (Principle and Practice course and Molecular course), the 11th Annual Scientific Conference of Pathology, ALL Fellow congress, Ibadan. 2016, 29th Congress of the international Academy of Pathology (IPA) Cape Town, South Africa. 1ST October, 2012, Research Methodology in Medicine Workshop (National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria. 28th August -1st September, 2006) and the host of others. He has published about 51 Articles with about 120 Citations. He is presently an Associate Professor of Pathology and the Chief Consultant Pathologist in the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar. He contributes to both General Surgical Pathology and Cytology including performing Fine Needle Aspirations. His key research interest is in Genito-urinary Pathology with emphasis on Cervical Cancer and Molecular & Forensic Pathology.
