EmailDr. (Mrs) Agnes Ingiagar Ulayi is a Nigerian Environmentalists. Her academic qualifications are: B.Ed. (Hons) Environmental Education with speciality in Tourism and Ecological Management (2002- 2006) M. Ed in Environmental education (2010 – 2014) and Ph.D. in Environmental Adult education in the Department of Continuing Education and Development studies, all in University of Calabar, Calabar. The first graduating Ph.D. Student in Environmental Adult Education in Continuing Education and Development Studies, University of Calabar. She obtained her Teacher’s Grade II Certificate in 1991 and also Senior Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in 1996 and First school leaving certificate in 1985. She started her teaching career with Obanliku Local Government Education Authority Cross River State from 1991 – 2000. Shortly after that, she transferred her service to Calabar South Local Government Education Authority from 2000 – 2010. Thereafter, She proceeded to University of Calabar International Demonstration Secondary School, 2010 – 2019. After her Successful Ph.D. programme, she got her conversion of appointment from Mistress I to Lecturer II to the Department of continuing Education and Development Studies former Adult Education, University of Calabar. Dr.(Mrs) Ulayi is an astute researcher, she has published many scholarly researched articles both Local and Foreign in highly reputable journals. Her major interests are in Environmental Awareness Creation Strategies and Sustainable crop farming among female farmers in Cross River State and Women participation in NGO Environmental Awareness programmes and Sustainable Environmental practices, she is particularly interested in issues of Creating Environmental awareness for sustainability of our Environmental Resources. She has served meritoriously in primary, secondary and university in various capacities as A Member of Quality Assurance Control and Examination Vetting Committee University of Calabar, Sectional- Heads, Head of Unit, (HOU) Superintendent for both Junior and Senior in Secondary school for many years as well as Class-Teacher. She has mentored and supervised many, some of her ex- students are Medical doctors, Lawyers, Teachers, and Bankers etc. presently she is mentoring and supervising undergraduate students and their projects. She has attended both local and international conferences where she presented scholarly research papers. She also published scholarly research articles in both local and international peer review journals. She has benefited from the University of Calabar study fellowship, An award for her Ph.D. programme also award form Institute of Human and Natural Resources as the Best Class-Room teacher in 2008. Dr. (Mrs) Ulayi is a member of the following professional bodies Nigeria National Council for Adult Education (NNCAE), Cross River State Branch, Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) , Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Armed Forces Catholic Woman Organisation (AFCWO), National Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Nigeria (NCCRN) Calabar Branch. She has organized and sponsored advocacy visits and outreaches to sensitize and encourage women on sustainable environmental management programmes. Women were more conscious about the environmental resources management through various awareness programmes, waste management i.e. sorting, separating, transforming and returning to service. Woman were taught how to exploit their resources at their disposal to create wealth, trees planting, mitigation of pollution, protecting watersheds, combating soil erosion, selection of seafood, protection of endangered species of plants and animal from extinction and proper methods of food processing activities such as rice, maize, millet, wheat, cassava and yam into flour. She is happily married with many children.
