Agatha Amuangeye Ikposhi was born on October 8th, 1958 and hails from Obudu Local Government Area (L.G.A.) of Cross River State. She began her education at St. Anthony’s Primary School Amukwong in Alege, also in Obudu L.G.A (1964 – 69). Upon completion of primary six, she proceeded to Holy Child Secondary School, Ikom L.G.A. of Cross River State, (1971 – 1975). Immediately after her secondary School Education, she left for further studies at the University of Delhi, India, where she got admission to study for Bachelors of Arts Honours Course (B.A. Hons, 1975 – 1979). She also, holds a Post - Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (1982 – 1983), an M.Ed. Guidance & Counseling (1985-1987) and a certificate in Human Resources Management from the Administrative Staff College Topo, Badagry, Lagos State in 1997. She began her career as a Classroom Teacher (Teacher Grade 11) with the then Cross River State Teaching Service Commission / State Secondary Schools’ Board), where she served diligently and rose to the rank of a Principal (1979 – 1993). She subsequently, transferred her service from the State Schools’ Board to the The Polytechnic, Calabar, and the merger of the States’ Tertiary Institutions in 2002, became known as the Cross River University of Technology (CRUTECH). Here too, she served assiduously and rose to the rank of a Deputy Registrar in 2010 after having served in all the Divisions of the Registry including the Graduate School. She currently is a Deputy Registrar in the University of Calabar on transfer of service with effect from December, 2017. She is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) and All Nigeria Universities Professional Administrators (ANUPA). She is happily married and the union is blessed with four children, two girls and two boys.
