Dr isong attended the defunct Polytechnic, Calabar Cross River State, between 1985 to 2002 where he obtained his National Diploma and Higher National Diploma certificates in Secretarial Studies in 1989 and 2002 respectively. He further holds a Ph.D and M.Ed. degrees in Industrial and Labour Education obtained from the University of Calabar in 2019 and 20014 respectively. Dr Isong was awarded a B.Ed. degree in Adult Education in 2004. He started his career in the University of Calabar in 1979 as a Secretarial staff. He rose to the rank of Chief Confidential Secretary in 2018 and was converted to the Lecturer II in 2019 after successfully completing his PhD programme in the same Department. He has benefited from the University of Calabar Study Fellowship award for his M.Ed and Ph.D Programmes. Other awards and honours received by Dr Isong include Excellent Performance of Duty Award by the University of Calabar, Calabar in 2010 and award by Senior Staff Association of Universities, Teaching Hospitals, Research Institutions and Associated Institutions, Unical Chapter for hard work in 1991. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Reporters of Nigeria. Dr Isong has participated in many conferences. He is married with children.
