Dr. Udiba Ugumanim Udiba

Dr. Udiba Udiba U. is a lecturer in the Department of Zoology and Environmental Biology, University of Calabar. He holds a Bachelors degree in Chemistry from the University of Calabar, a Masters degree in Environmental Management from Imo State University, Owerri and a doctorate degree in Environmental Pollution and Toxicology from the University of Calabar. He has worked as a Research Officer in the National Research Institute for Chemical Technology (NARICT), Zaria, Kaduna State (2008-2011) rising to the rank of Principal Research Officer in 2015 before joining the University of Calabar as a Lecturer I in 2016. His research focus is on Environmental Pollution and Toxicology. He is a member of the Nigerian Environmental Society (NES), Society for Environmental pollution and Toxicology (SETPOM) and the Chemical society of Nigeria (CSN). He has over 50 publications in in several national and international peer review journals. He has attended several capacity trainings/workshops within and outside the University. His research and teaching interests include general environmental pollution monitoring, assessment of impacts and control. He is one of the ten emerging researchers funded by Association of Common Wealth Universities (ACU) to combat marine plastics pollution and an ACU blue charter post-doctoral research fellow of the University of Southampton, United Kingdom. .
