Dr. T. A. Ojua is an Associate Professor in the Department of Social Work, University of Calabar, Calabar. He holds a Diploma in Social Work for Development (1989-1990), B. Sc. Degree in Sociology (University of Jos [1996]), M.A and PhD Degree in Socio-cultural Anthropology (2001 and 2006 respectively) from the University of Ibadan. He was Coordinator of Social Work Programme (2014-2016), Post Graduate Coordinator (2010- 2012), Acting Head of Department of Sociology (2016), presently the Pioneer Head, Department of Social Work, University of Calabar. His area of Research interest is in Child Welfare/Protection, Health and Gerontology and Cultural issues. He had earned several grants from UNICEF, USAID, measure evaluation and World Bank in researches where he served as lead and other consultants. He is a member of several Professional Associations, some of which are Nigeria Association of Social Workers (NASOW), Nigeria Association of Social Work Educators (NASWE), National sociology and Anthropology Association, and President – elect Pan-African Anthropological Association (PAAA). He has supervised several Undergraduate, Masters and PhD students in the Department of Sociology and Social Work.
