Dr Okon Edet Ani is a Deputy University Librarian at the University of Calabar,Calabar, Nigeria. He holds B.Sc. and M.Sc degrees in Physics from the University of Calabar; M.Inf.Sc. (Information Science) from the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria, and PhD (Information Science) from the University of South Africa, Pretoria,South Africa. He is a Chartered Librarian (CLN) and member of Nigeria Library Association (NLA). He was a Visiting Librarian at the Rivers State University of Science and Technology, Port-Harcourt, Nigeria (2007-2008). He has published several articles in reputable national and international journals. His areas of research include applications of ICTs in libraries, virtual/digital libraries, electronic information resources, biblometrics, and scientific productivity..
