Dr. Lapah Pierre Takem
MBBS (Sydney), FRACS (Paediatric Surgery)
L. P. Takem studied in the University of Calabar. He obtained B.Sc. (Hon) in Microbiology in the then Biological Sciences Department. He then moved to the Department of Pharmacology where he obtained M.Sc. and Ph.D in Pharmacology with specialty in Neuropharmacology. He lectures Pharmacology to students of the following Faculties: Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry, Basic Medical Sciences, Allied Medical Sciences and Pharmacy. He is a member of West African Society for Pharmacology (WASP) and Pharmacology for Africa (Pharmfa). He has published several academic research articles in reputable international journals as well as attended and presented research work at international academic conferences. He is currently developing a data base of neuroactive plants of North-West Region of Cameroon. He is a practicing Catholic and happily married with two children..
