Dr (Mrs) Joyce Fidelis Akpan is a Lecturer I in the Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Forestry and Wildlife Resources management, University of Calabar, Nigeria. She joined the services of the University in 2008 as Graduate Assistant and was promoted to the rank Lecturer I in 2017. She holds a doctorate degree in Soil Microbiology - 2018, M.Sc. degree in Soil Microbiology in 2009 and B. Agric degree in Soil Science (2000). All her degrees were awarded by the University of Calabar. Her main area of specialization is Soil Microbiology. Dr Akpan has been teaching, research and mentoring students in the University. She has successfully published over twenty journal articles spread across both local and international peer reviewed journal articles. She has served the University in other capacities including Department of Soil Science Seminar Coordinator Registration Officer. Dr Akpan is a member of many professional bodies including Soil Society of Nigeria, Organic Agriculture in Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria and Nigerian Institute of Soil Science.
