Dr. Eyo Emmanuel Essien

Eyo Emmanuel Essien is a Lecturer I at the Department of Marketing, Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Calabar. He earned his PhD at the Leeds Business School, Leeds Beckett University, United Kingdom in 2017. He also undertook a one-year Post-Doctoral work as a Part-Time Lecturer at the same institution where he was involved in post-graduate teaching and research. His research interest is mainly in the areas of organizational buying behavior strategies and public procurement policies, particularly in developing countries. Dr. Essien has over 10 years of collaborative teaching and research experience with academics both locally and internationally. He has supervised several undergraduate and a number of MSc dissertations in the Department of Marketing. He was also Exams Officers for the Part-Time Marketing Programme between 2009-2014. He has attended and presented papers at both local and international fora, as well as attending several capacity building workshops. His published articles appear in several reputable peer-reviewed journals including the Journal of Public Procurement. He is also a member of Nigeria’s foremost professional marketing body, the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN)..
