Mr. Nyakno Akpan Essien

Essien, Nyakno Akpan is a Faculty member in the Department of Biochemistry, University of Calabar, Nigeria. He is a graduate of Biochemistry (B.Sc. 2011; M.Sc. 2017) from the University of Calabar. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D degree in Nutrition and food science in the same Department, University of Calabar. He started his academic career as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Biochemistry in 2014 and was promoted to the rank of Assistant Lecturer in 2017. He lectures undergraduates in the Nutrition and Dietetics Unit of the Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences. His major research area is on the management of metabolic diseases. Essien Nyakno is currently serving as an Assistant examination officer for undergraduate program in the Department of Biochemistry. He is a member of Nigeria Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Nigerian Society of Experimental Biology and Nutrition Society of Nigeria..
