Philosophy, University of Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. He holds a Doctorate Degree in Philosophy, 2007, Master of Arts Degree in Philosophy, 2003, Master in Public Administration, 2004 and Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, 1997. He also, holds a Bachelor of Law Degree, 2008 and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2012. Dr.Ikegbu who was employed at the Department of Philosophy, University of Calabarin 2008 as Lecturer II, through hard work, dedicationand commitment to dutyhas risento the rank of Associate Professor since October 1st, 2017. He is widely published in both international and local journals and chapters in books. He has attended international and local conferences where he has presented incisive and thought-provoking papers. In the course of his academic disquisitions and research, he founded the concepts “Cologenderism” and “Neo-cologenderism” in 2012. The concepts seek to balance the commonly held andillogical view of women marginalization, oppression and subjugation by men, arguing that either of the sexes can oppressand be oppressed, marginalize and be marginalized depending largely on numerical strength and statistical structuring- cologenderism. Neo-cologenderism is the intra domineering, intra-oppressive and intrasubjective tendencies of a specieof sexover the other of the same sex for personal gains. Neo-cologenderismis intra connected while cologenderismis inter connected. Dr. Ikegbu’s research areas are in Leadership Philosophy, Gender Studies, Social & Political Philosophy, Philosophy of Law and Applied Ethics. He is a Christian and happily married with children. He is also a social crusader of the Gandhian and Lutheran bent. .
