Violet Bassey Eneyo assumed duty in the University of Calabar as a Graduate Assistant on 27th July, 2010 and has risen to the rank of a Lecturer II, a level she attained in 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree (2006) in Environmental Protection and Resource Management from the Department of Geography and Regional Planning, Masters (2013) and Doctorate (2016) degrees in Geography and Environmental Science (with bias in Ecotourism, Recreation and Conservation Planning), all from University of Calabar, Nigeria. She is a recipient of Cross River State Government Scholarship (2005), Saotome and Principle Scholarship Award for Post Graduate Students (2006), and a beneficiary of University of Calabar Study Fellowship (2013/2014 – 2017/2018). She lectures Human Geography, Eco-tourism, Introduction to Environmental Science, Tour and Guide Operators, Introduction to Hospitality studies, Tourism Impact Assessment, Man and Environmental Resources, Ecosystem Restoration, Tourism and Recreation Planning, Tourism Resources, Community-Based Tourism, Accommodation Studies, Government and Tourism, Heritage, Tourism and Museum Management at undergraduate level. Also, she has successfully mentored and supervised student’s research work at undergraduate level. She has also attended many academic workshops and presented academic papers in many conferences that address environmental and tourism issues of international and local concerns. She has participated as a resource person to student’s practical fieldwork experience. Dr Violet has over eighteen publications in both local and foreign peer reviewed Journals to her credit. She is a member of many professional bodies including Association for Tourism Development in Nigeria and Society of Tourism Researchers of Nigeria, Over the past four years, she has conducted training courses on Tourism Resources Management in some rural communities. .
