Prof. Eme E. Osim was employed as Graduate Assistant in Physiology department on the 1st of August, 1977. He rose through the ranks and was promoted to Professor on 1st of October, 1998. He has published four books and 150 publications in reputable journals and has successfully supervised 42 PhD and 28 MSc students. He had his primary education in Presbyterian Primary School, Abakaliki. His secondary education was in Hope Waddel Training Institution, Calabar and tertiary education was in University of Ibadan for BSc degree and University College London for MSc and PhD degrees in Human Physiology. Prof. Osim has served as Head of department of Physiology for 13 and a half years, Dean of Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences for two terms, member of governing Council of Unical for 2 terms. He has also served as President of Physiological Society of Nigeria for 5 years. He is currently the chairman, Board of Trustees of Physiological Society of Nigeria. He was awarded Fellow of Physiological Society of Nigeria (FPSN) and Fellow of Nigerian Institute of Experimental Biology (FNISEB) in 2010 and 2016 respectively for his meritorious services in Human Physiology and Biology respectively..
