Dr. Ekei Victor Ikpeme

Dr. Ekei Victor Ikpeme holds a Ph.D. degree in Animal Genetics from the University of Calabar. She joined the services of the University in 2006 as an Assistant lecturer. She rose through the ranks and was promoted to the rank of Senior Lecturer in 2015. She also has a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) from the University of Calabar (1988). Mrs. Ekei ikpeme has been teaching and contributing to the graduation of undergraduate and post-graduate students in Genetics and Biotechnology. She has served the University in various capacities including Acting Head, Department of Genetics and Biotechnology (2016-2018), Examinations Officer and Academic Adviser (2008-2014), Departmental Coordinator, SIWES (2006-2017), member, Faculty of Biological Sciences Linkage and Research Committee and Faculty of Biological Sciences Representative to the Faculty of Oceanography. She has supervised and cosupervised 3 Ph. Ds and several other graduate students. Dr. Ekei Ikpeme has over 40 articles published in both local and international peer-review journals. She has also attended and presented papers in both local and international conferences. Dr. Ikpeme has been reviewing for the European Journal of Medicinal Plants. She is a member of the Genetics Society of Nigeria, a member, Genetics Society of America, member, West African Society of Toxicology, member, Biotechnology Society of Nigeria, member, Animal Science Association of Nigeria, member, Nigeria Environmental Society, member, Women in Science and others. Dr. Ikpeme is presently guiding over five graduate students..
