Prof. Donatus Felix Uwah is a Professor of Crop Science specializing in Horticulture in the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Calabar. He holds a B.Sc. Agriculture (Agronomy) degree, University of Calabar (1986); M.Sc. Agronomy (Crop Production) degree, University of Ibadan (1989) and a Ph.D from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria (2001). He has been Sub-dean of Agriculture (2002-2004) and Head of Department of Crop Science, University of Calabar (2004-2006). He has served and still serving in many committees/panels in the University. Some of which include: Chairman, Faculty of Agriculture Examination Mal-practice committee; member, Faculty of Agriculture Journal committee, member, University of Calabar Students’ certificate screening panel; Chairman, Senate examination result vetting committee in the Department of Microbiology and Team Leader – cassava stem cutting multiplication project sponsored by West Africa Agricultural Productivity Programme (WAAPP – NIGERIA). His on-going researches are on: (i) Vegetative propagation of Gnetum africanum using different growth media. (ii) Screening sweet potato varieties for possible inclusion in the cropping systems of Cross River State. (iii) Determination of suitable planting dates for different varieties of watermelon in Cross River State. He has successfully supervised 3 Ph.Ds, 3 M.Scs, several PGDs and undergraduate projects..
