Dr. Dominic Akam Obi was employed in the University of Calabar in September 1997 as a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Geology. After successful completion of a Ph.D programme in 2009, he was upgraded to the rank of Assistant Lecturer in 2002. He rose through the ranks and was promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in 2015. He has served a one-year Sabbatical Leave appointment at Federal University Ndufe – Alike, Ebonyi State in 2015. He has also served in the Department of Physics, Cross River State University of Technology for four years as Adjunct Senior Lecture and Reader. He has taught and contributed to the graduation of several undergraduate students in these Universities. Dr Dominic Obi has published over thirty articles in both local and international peer review journals. He has attended papers in seven local conferences. He has successfully supervised five M.Sc. students. Dr Obi is a corporate member, Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society, Nigerian Association of Hydrogeologists and Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists. He is currently supervising three PhD students in Geology Department. Dr. Obi has also served in many committees set up by the university vice-chancellor.
