Dr. Christopher Naseri is a seasoned academic and a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies University of Calabar, Calabar. He obtained his Bachelor of Philosophy degree (B.Phil) in1992, Bachelor of Divinity (B.D) in 1997, Masters in Sacred Theology (S.T.L., Biblical Studies) in 2006, and Doctor of Sacred Theology (Ph.D/ S.T.D, Biblical Studies) in 2009 all from the Pontifical Urban University, Rome, Italy. He has a Certificate in Journalism (1992), a Certificate for the Study of German Language (2005), and a Certificate for the Study of Italian Language (2003). He joined the services of the University of Calabar in 2012 as Lecturer I in the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies and since joining the University, he has been teaching, mentoring and contributing to the graduation of students in the University at all levels. He has successfully supervised and co-supervised students at the MA and Ph.D levels. His major research areas include New Testament Exegesis, Biblical Languages: Greek and Hebrew, the Bible and Ecology, the Bible and Cultures, and Biblical Theology of the Old and New Testaments. Others include the Old Testament, Migration and the Bible, Christian Theology, and Christian Ethics. His current research project is on ‘The Biblical Perspectives on Migration and the Prospects for the Internally Displaced Persons of Bakassi Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria’. Dr. Christopher Naseri has served as Secretary to the Departmental Postgraduate Board (2013-2017), and since 2017, has been the Departmental Postgraduate Board Chairman. He has attended many conferences organized by Professional Bodies both nationally and internationally. He is a member of the following professional bodies: Society of Biblical Literature, Catholic Theological Association of Nigeria, Catholic Biblical Association of Nigeria (CABAN), Nigerian Association for Biblical Studies (NABIS), Catholic Biblical Association of America (CBA), and Research International Network (RIN). He has published a book and numerous articles in renowned journals. .
