Dr. Chimaobi Okorie

Dr. Chimaobi Okorie is a lecturer in the Department of Social Work, University of Calabar, Calabar Nigeria. He attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka where he obtained both a Diploma in Social Work Certificate and a B. Sc. degree in Social Work and Community Development in 1999 and 2002 respectively. In 2003, he published a book titled “A Dictionary of Social Work (over 1000 references)”. He was awarded an M.Sc. degree in Industrial Sociology and Personnel Management by the Imo State University, Owerri in 2008. He got employed by the Nigerian Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) in 2009. In 2014, he left NEPZA and joined the services of the University of Calabar, Calabar as an Assistant Lecturer. In 2016, he was awarded a Ph.D degree in Development Sociology and was upgraded to Lecturer II. He has been contributing to the growth of his University in different capacities including teaching research, mentoring and so on. Dr. Chimaobi Okorie has participated in local and international conferences. He has many publications in journals domiciled within and outside Nigeria. He is a Fellow, Institute for Humanitarian Studies and Social Development and a member, Nigerian Association of Social Workers. He is married with children..
