Dr. Charles Ezechukwu Anyanechi

Dr. Charles E. Anyanechi was employed in the University of Calabar, Calabar in November 2010 as lecturer 1 academic staff. Presently he is Associate Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Acting Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, and has been teaching undergraduate courses in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in both the Faculties of Medicine and Dentistry. He is a graduate of the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus and completed postgraduate studies (FWACS) from the West Africa Postgraduate Medical College specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is also a fellow of the International College of Surgeons and Honorary Chief Consultant to the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, Calabar. Publications and area of research has been based mainly on Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has published more than 70 scientific papers in reputed journals, and has been serving as an editorial board member of repute and reviewer to many medical/Health Sciences journals within and outside Nigeria. He received material support from FIDSON HEALTHCARE PLC Obanikoro, Lagos for the research work on “Clinical evaluation of the efficacy of arthocare forte in the treatment of bacterial plaque induced chronic periodontitis”. He was honoured with Certificate of Recognition by the Scient Global Conferences for the BEST POSTER AWARD on the article “The efficacy of tincture of benzoin compound in the management of extraction sockets of mesio-angularly impacted mandibular third molar” at the Global Conference on Dental and Oral Health held in August 2016, in Dubai, United Arab Emirate. He has also been honored by several organizations within and outside Nigeria, based mainly on his research effort in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and service to humanity. He has attended many conferences/workshops within and outside Nigeria and presented scientific papers at some of the meetings. He has also been serving as external examiner in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery to the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus since 2017. Areas of his research interest include Dento-Alveolar Surgery, Oral and Maxillo-facial Surgery Traumatology and Oncology. He is a member of Nigeria Medical Association, Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria, Nigeria Dental Association, West African College of Surgeons, International College of Surgeons, International Congress of Oral Implantologist, Academic Staff Union of Universities, Academy of Advanced Dental Research, International Agency for Standards and Ratings among others..
